Norilsk Nickel” Doubled Supplies to China in 2009
In 2009 “ Norilsk Nickel” increased nickel supplies to China by 50%, said the Deputy CEO of the company, Victor Sprogis on Friday at the 7th Krasnoyarsk Economy Forum.
“In China we increased nickel supplies volume from 30 thousand tons in 2008 to 60 thousand tons. We also increased nickel supplies to Indian market. 30 % of nickel consumed in India is being supplied by us”, - said Mr Sprogis.
According to him, in 2010 the company will try to keep its positions in these markets. “The current position in the market is rather comfortable for us and we will try to keep it in 2010”, - Mr Sorgis noticed.
It was earlier reported that “Norilsk Nickel” planned to increase nickel supplies to India in 2010 by 5-7% to 13-14 thousand tons. Currently “Norilsk Nickel” keeps 30 % of India’s nickel market and is planning to increase it to 40 % next year. “Indian market is as interesting as Chinese market”, - Mr Sorgis earlier said.
